Session board | This is a very slow, relaxing composition using only the SylkyFilter patch on the Session board, a custom piano patch of my own based on the Session board waveforms and a bell patch I downloaded from the Internet (sorry, don't remember the author). As the title indicates, the music is quite meditative and very ambient. |

none | OK, the title of the song is rather on the cheesy side. The song is a somewhat truancies jazz-like piece. There's a steady rhythm with a strong bass component, along with New Age-inspired improvisational piano track backing up the lead rhythmic melody. |

Session board. | An ambient-type song inspired by the K-PAX soundtrack and the "Ethereal JX" patch on the Session expansion board. The Ethereal JX patch is a 5ths-type patch (one note plays the note plus the 5th above it). I added a quantized 1/16th rhythmic Vibraphone (from the GM set), supporting Piano (custom patch using Session waveforms), light Choral backing (custom patch using Session waveforms), and one of the Session Rhythm Sets for techno-like percussion. |

Session board | This is my first composition using the Session Expansion board which I recently purchased. This is a contemporary classical piece inspired by the excellent stereo piano waveforms found on the Session board. The piece uses a custom piano patch I created with the Session Stereo Piano waveforms, default classical guitar, flute, and "Mmmm" chorus patches from the Session board. |

This piece was inspired by Holst's "The Planets"; in particular, the Mars theme in that work. It sounds similar to that movement, but uses a 4/4 rhythm rather than Holst's 5/4 time signature. |

none | This is a soft rock type of song, without the lyrics. I had originally planned to write lyrics for the piece, but never could come up with anything suitable. As I compose my music around melodies, and have never composed a song around existing lyrics, creating lyrics for and existing melody proved more difficult than I wanted to bother with. This is a slow, melodic piece. |

Experience I (SR-JV80-99) | This is my first attempt at a serious lyrical song (I came up with the lyrics too). It is a rather sad piece about someone's feeling of emptiness following a loved one's extended departure (the lyrics could be interpreted as applying to the death of a loved one, but they were written just as an "I miss you" song). The expansion board is only used for one Part, the sax part because the soprano sax on the Experience I board is better than the internal sax sample, though the internal one could be substituted. |

none | This is a very sci-fi sounding piece, something you would hear in a space adventure movie. It is actually very simple, based entirely on three chords (well, arpeggios really). The piece is very orchestral (but does not require any expansion boards as I don't have any) with the one exception of the "Trance Line," a patch I found somewhere on the Internet which sounds suspiciously like the sound used in the original Star Trek The Motion Picture movie when the Klingon ship is shown. Please listen to this song and tell me what you think. |
